A colleague lives in Bedfield in Suffolk. His internet and phone have
been out for a couple of weeks and he has now been told it will be a
further week before it is fixed. Evidently the whole village is out,
possibly as a result of damage on 2 August, see

Is there any way that this community can persuade Openreach to fix this
long-standing problem more quickly?

Get everybody affected to make a compensation claim against their
provider especially if it is BT.

Plus send a threatening letter that if it isn't still resorted in two weeks
that they'll get follow-up small claims court summons.

And get the local MP involved.
