With their acquisition by Cisco, has SamKnows stopped doing the UK
Broadband Availability section and/or the exchange details?

Well yes. The whole concept of knowing what is available by exchange is
fast vanishing, My CityFibre connection goes nowhere near a BT exchange.

There doesn't appear to be a link to any BTOR exchange details. You'd
think the previous owners of SamKows would have made it a contractual
pre-condition of the sale of their name...

I don't think it's been updated in years

When were those sections last updated? It’s my Impressions that it’s been a
“cobweb” site for many moons already.

This message comes to you via a FTTC connection which "Sam" thinks does

Presumably that's "thought" (past tense: when the SamKnows site still
existed in its proper form, before the takeover). Or have you found
anywhere on the present-day site which still gives that information
(even if it's out-of-date).

Ah, hadn't realised that the "availability" hostname had gone away, so
all the exchange pages are gone now.

Is Fritz any good as a substitute:

That site just explains how to use my site to look up FTTC cabinet information
by post code or locality:

https://www.telecom-tariffs.co.uk/codelook.htm

But I stopped updating the cabinet information three years ago, when the raw
information became harder to access. It is also rapidly becoming redundant as
full fibre replaces FTTC.

I have a SamKnows box on my Virgin Media connection.
It gives encouraging monthly reports.

Is this now just for me?
I didn't even know it had been taken over by Cisco.

Should I return it or is it still a useful thing for the UK?

Cheers
